Until recently, golf courses in Turkey have been concentrated around the regions of Istanbul and Belek. However, the south-western province of Mugla, including the port town of Bodrum (formerly Halicarnassus) is likely to become one of Turkey`s golfing "hot spots."

Bodrum Golf Club, Kemer Mevki, Ortakent, TR-48400 is a "tuition" based course, opened with the aim of increasing the popularity of the sport in the Mugla region of Turkey by providing golf instruction. It was the first golf club on the Bodrum Peninsula, with construction commencing on a 12 acre area in 2006. The natural beauty of the course was preserved, with no trees being removed and it provides peaceful surroundings with abundant wildlife. The course utilises Bermuda grass, as it is more durable and needs less watering in the long hours of sunshine. The club is an ideal venue for beginners wishing to improve their game. It offers an excellent range of practice facilities, including a 250-yard driving range, practice putting green, pitching / chipping areas and practice bunkers. The course has only 5 holes, the first being a par-4 and the remainder par-3s. The club hopes to extend this to 9 holes in the immediate future. The clubhouse has a restaurant bar and café, along with a spa offering jacuzzi facilities. The Pro shop allows golfers to buy or rent equipment and there is a locker room with showers.
